For the Ones Who Cannot Stop Creating
A love letter to creatives who are learning to trust their path, protect their magic, and keep creating.
Hello you 🤍
Today, I would love to share a few words about the art of making art.
In my case, art is writing.
In other cases, it can be crafting the perfect text for a client, painting, dancing, playing an instrument—whatever feels true to you.
The art of seduction. The art of negotiation.
The Many Faces of Art
I believe some of us are born with the urge and the need to create.
If we get lost in life’s seasons—and creatives tend to do that, just like every other human being—I mean it in this way: when we can no longer connect to our creativity, or we don’t know how or where to channel it, it can feel seriously depressing.
Define a creative person.
A creative person is someone who feels an inner pull to bring something into existence that did not exist before.
They create not only through art, but through ideas, conversations, solutions, businesses, relationships, experiences, and ways of seeing the world.
A creative person notices possibilities where others see limitations.
They are often driven by curiosity, expression, imagination, and a desire to make meaning out of life.
At their core, creative people are translators. They take what lives within them—their thoughts, emotions, visions, and experiences—and give it a form that can be shared with the world.
Being creative is not necessarily about being talented.
It is about being willing to create.
Even when it is imperfect.
Even when it is uncomfortable.
Even when no one is watching.A creative person is someone who feels most alive when they are making something that feels true to them.
Define art.
To me, art is the expression of what lives within us.
It is a feeling, a thought, a vision, or an experience given a form.
Art can be a painting, a poem, a song, a photograph, a dance, a conversation, a business, or a beautifully written message.
Art is not limited to a canvas.
It lives wherever creation meets intention.
Art allows us to communicate what words alone sometimes cannot.
It helps us make sense of ourselves, our experiences, and the world around us.
To create art is to leave a piece of your inner world behind for others to witness.
And perhaps that is why art matters so deeply.
It reminds us that we are here.
That we felt.
That we imagined.
That we created.
When Creation Is Part of Your Nature
To me, art is what helps me breathe.
Creating something of my own is how I breathe.
No amount of tempting offers will ever make me question that.
I am that.
I have always been her.
I will always be her.
This Is Who I Am
Today, I felt like sharing a practice with you that I personally do.
I do it when I want to make sure I’m aligned with my creative path.
I also do it whenever I feel lost or disconnected from it.
Take it seriously.
Take yourself seriously.
If you have an inner call to create, if you can’t stop creating, then don’t you ever stop.
Do not dim your magic.
Do not listen to those who don’t trust or see your talent.
Give yourself a wink in the mirror, and keep rising by continuing to walk a path that feels aligned with your soul. A path that feels aligned with you. With who you are.
“I am” are two of the strongest words in the world, because what you put after them will shape your reality—and not to mention, your inner world.
Let’s dive in.
Creative Alignment Check-In
Whenever I want to make sure I’m aligned with my creative path, I sit down with my journal and ask myself these questions:
What am I creating right now?
Does it excite me, energize me, and make me feel alive?
Am I creating it because I genuinely want to, or because I think I should?
What creative idea keeps returning to me?
What would I create if I stopped worrying about the outcome?
Where am I forcing?
Where am I flowing?
What is my creativity trying to tell me right now?
Then I sit quietly for a few moments and listen.
No pressure.
No expectations.
No judgment.
Just honesty.
More often than not, the answers are already within me.
This practice reminds me that my creative path is not something I need to find.
It is something I need to return to.
Again and again.
And every time I do, I feel a little more like myself.
Finding My Way Back to Creativity
Whenever I feel lost or disconnected from my creativity, I ask myself:
When was the last time I created something simply for the joy of creating?
What am I avoiding?
What am I overthinking?
What would feel fun right now?
What would I create if nobody could judge it?
What have I been wanting to make, but keep postponing?
What would happen if I trusted myself a little more?
Then I choose one small action.
Not a perfect action.
Not a big action.
Just one small step.
I write one paragraph.
I open the document.
I pick up the brush.
I press record.
I begin.
Because I have learned that creativity is rarely found by waiting for inspiration.
It is found by meeting it halfway.
By showing up.
By taking the next step.
And then the next.
Until the connection slowly returns.
Every time I come back to creating, I come back to myself.
And that is always worth returning to.
A Final Reminder
Thank you so much for reading along.
You’re deeply appreciated.
Yes, you are.
Loop it, affirm it.
Best,
Jasmin
